About
South Africa host the six-team second tier WXV 2 competition in Cape Town for the second time in 2024, with matches being played across the weekends of 27 September, 5 and 12 October. The sixth-placed regional position in the WXV 2 competition at the end of each season will be relegated to WXV 3. WXV 1 will be hosted in Canada and WXV 3 will return to Dubai.
The history
In 2023, the first year of WXV 2, the Springbok Women finished third behind Scotland and Italy, edging out Japan, the United States and Samoa. The inaugural WXV 1 was won by England, while Ireland were crowned champions of WXV 3.
