The Western Province Thunder Deaf finished the competition in second place, with their counterparts, Western Province Cyclones Deaf, coming in third, and the SA Deaf Invitational XV fourth.

The Blue Bulls Deaf side were in fine form from the outset last Saturday, 30 March, as they registered a comprehensive 45-12 victory against the Western Province Thunder Deaf, and they built on this as the tournament progressed to rack up a big 71-7 victory against the Western Province Cyclones Deaf and a 71-0 win against the SA Invitational Deaf XV on Wednesday and Saturday respectively.

These impressive results saw them top the log table at the end of the competition with a full house of points and a remarkable 29 tries.

Blue Bulls Deaf centre Leon Willemans proved to be a points’ machine for the Pretoria team as he scored a memorable 11 tries and added 18 conversions for a personal tally of 91 points during the tournament.

The top players in the competition over the three rounds were named in a Stones Cup Star Squad, and it was no surprise that Willemans was included in the midfield.
